After Britain’s vote to leave the European Union today, the hashtag #Brexit took a confused Twitter-sphere by storm. Celebrities expressed their happiness, anger and confusion about the decision on the social media outlet.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling said, “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted magic more.”
Pro golfer Rory McIlroy tweeted his discontent writing, “With #Brexit and the way the US presidential race is going…. Can we take a mulligan on 2016??:
Speaking of the U.S. presidential race, our own candidates had their own two cents to pitch in (and not a penny more).
Hillary Clinton appears to have quoted her self with a quotationed tweet that says, “‘This time of uncertainty only underscores the need for calm, steady, experienced leadership in the White House.’ —Hillary #BrexitVote”
Donald Trump didn’t even seem to understand the implications of the decision, writing, “Just arrived in Scotland. Place is going wild over the vote. They took their country back, just like we will take America back. No games!” to which singer Lily Allen replied, “Scotland voted IN you moron”.
